Where are you getting your Dunamis?

is used approximately 120 times in the New Testament. Loosely, the word refers to strength, power, or ability. It is the root word of our English words dynamite, dynamo, and dynamic.]
The power and glory of God is unmatched from any other source on thus earth. From Genesis to Revelation our God is an awesome God! There are many examples of his power on display throughout the Bible.
Some of you may remember when the wise men and the sorcerers of Pharaoh tried to duplicate their evil power (satanic power) as the miracle working power showed through Moses.
From (Exodus 7:8) to Exodus 12:33), the evil power of Pharaoh's false gods were no match for the supreme power of almighty God. Even the Pharaoh's magicians and his servants came to him begging to let God's people go.
Did you know there are religious groups who think they have the power of God in their midst? Did you know there are Satanist churches who think their power of influence is greater than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?
[Pharaoh's religion was worshiping gods of the underworld. If the magicians had been as powerful as God, they would have reversed the plagues, not added to them. You may wonder how Pharaoh could be so foolish.]
[How could he be that hard hearted before God’s miraculous power and still not listen to Moses. Pharaoh had his mind made up long before the plagues began. He couldn’t believe that someone was greater than he was.]
And yes, there are many in our culture today who think there are no consequences to going up against the only God of all creation. How many jaw dropping statements have been made about God's power being mocked at?
I remember the tragic story of the Titanic sinking. Someone had made the statement after its finished construction that "Not even God could sink the Titanic!" Sadly, we all know what happened later.
Did God sink the Titanic? Obviously not. God sent his Son to save lives not destroy them. (Luke 9:51-56). But pride without repentance can bring about disastrous falls. (Proverbs 16:18). Going against God is foolish. (Psalm 53:1-6).
It is foolish to go up against the Almighty power of God! This Dunamis power should be handled with great reference. There are many examples in the Bible where God's power was mishandled. Can you locate some?
You can read some of these passages in your reading devotion time. (Matthew 7:22-23; 11:20-25; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 5:16-25; Luke 9:1-6; Acts 8:9-24). From reading these verses, we see God's power is nothing to ignorantly play w
🗣📢 Last words: Here are some more of my favorite moments of God's power on display and how some had misused, manipulated, or stole the glory of God’s power for personal gain or through disobedience.
A) King Saul (1 Samuel 13:8-14, 15:22-23).
B) King Herod Agrippa (Acts 12:21-23).
C) The Sons of Eli (1 Samuel 2:12-17, 4:1-11).
D) Uzzah (2 Samuel 6:1-7). Simply showed irreverence to God.
This particular incident had much blame to go around. David was distressed but God had given instruction on how the Ark of the Covenant was to be transported. Carless incidents can lead to untimely consequences.
Does this make God mean or evil? Not at all. God is Holy. His holy presence cannot be breached by flesh or imperfections. The same holy instructions were given when God's glory came down at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:1-13).
God's glory is a consuming fire 🔥 (Exodus 24:15-18; 33:22-23; Deuteronomy 4:11, 24; Matthew 17:1-8; Ezekiel 11:22-23; 2 Chronicles 5:1-14; 6:10 to 7:1-3; Revelation 21:23; Hebrews 12:28-29).
(Mark 9:1-4) suggest that his disciples would see him in power before they should see death. When Jesus was declared both Lord and Christ, by the wonderful power of the Holy Spirit; the Gospel spread in the world both among Jews and Gentiles,
The disciples got to witness this Dunamis power firsthand. They saw their Savior glorified in great splendor. (2 Peter 1:16). This power Peter would later know as being the rock that Jesus would establish and build his church on.
The power of God is foolishness to those who walk in darkness. "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV).
Many unbelievers think that because they may be more in number against the body of Christ, that they must be right and attacking the truth makes them more powerful. But they are Sadly mistaken.
God has shown his loving mercy to all of us. We are all guilty of sin and deserve the penalty of death (spiritual death) (Revelation 2:11; 20:6, 14-15; 21:8). Many who scoff at God's loving invitation will later weep for doing so. (Matthew 16:17,18).
Jesus would say, all power and authority is given to him. This Dunamis power is reflected in his resurrection, ascension, and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Along with his soon to be second coming.
Please read these verses into your spirit. (Luke 4:36; 9:1; Luke 10:19; 1 Corinthians 15:24; Ephesians 1:17-23; Matthew 28:18-20). True authentic believers have power over unbelief in the name of Jesus.
Many religious churches and cult religions operate in spiritual emptiness that denies God's power. (2 Peter 2:17-19). Sadly, many churches operate under the same spirit as Balaam. Again, they may have a form, but without light.
Jesus told the religious during his ministry that they were in error because they did not know the Scriptures. (Matthew 24:23-31; Mark 12:19-27). There are many who reject the Dunamis truth. (John 8:32; James 5:19-20).
The Savior of the world for authentic born-again believers lives in inherent power that resides in himself. This Dunamis is part of his nature. Christians are different in that we don't live the Christian life in our own power.
It is God’s power that operates through our spirit by the Holy Spirit’s power. It is God’s ability that makes us able to accomplish anything of value, for apart from him we can do nothing (John 15:4-10; Romans 8:37; Philippians 4:13).
Obviously, I wanted to save the best for last before we close. Here are several key uses of Dunamis in the Bible.
🔑☆ Luke 1:35: "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
🔑☆ Luke 4:36:"And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out."
🔑☆ Acts 1:8: "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
🔑☆ Romans 1:20-32: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:...
🔑☆ 2 Corinthians 4:7: "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
🔑☆ 2 Corinthians 12:9: "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
🔑☆ Ephesians 3:20–21: "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, [21] Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
🔑☆ 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
🔑☆ Hebrews 1:1-4: Please read these verses aloud in your spirit.
🔑☆ 2 Peter 1:2-4: Please read these verses aloud into your spirit.
All these key verses are in the KJV. The last two verses were purposely left for you to read aloud. Most "Try Jesus" members can remember how I told them that it pleases God when we read his own living words back to him audibly.
[Christians may not fight an enemy army, but every day we battle temptation, pressure, and evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world (Ephesians 6:12), who want us to rebel against God.]
Remember beloved as born-again believers, we have God’s Spirit in us. If we ask for God’s help when we face struggles, God will fight for us. And God always triumphs. Our Savior has never lost a battle.
How do we let God's power fight for us?
♡) Acknowledge the Power Inside. Realize that the battle is not yours, but God’s.
♡) Overcome Fear with Faith. Recognize your human limitations and allowing God’s strength to work through your fears and weaknesses.
♡) Use it for Daily Needs. Make sure you are pursuing God’s interests (His will) and not just your own selfish desires.
♡) Speak Your Testimony. Declare God's word over your life to activate his power (Revelation. 12:10-12). Ask God for help in your daily battles.
28} "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29} For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29 KJV).
If God is not in the house, the power and glory may have departed. (1 Samuel 4:19-22). Don't allow the fire of God’s power and glory to be put out in your life and your church. Pastors get reignited today! 🔥
🛐 Here’s a prayer you can pray to burn for the Lord. "Heavenly Father, thank you for showing me that I have no power except the power of your Holy Spirit, who dwells in the hearts of your authentic born-again believers.
For so long I have tried to make things fit according to my will, not according to the purpose and plan you have for my life. Lord, please help me today to take up my cross and follow you. The cross around my neck everyone can see.
However, the cross on my back represents that your steps to Calvary caused me to follow after you in this broken world in which you came to offer eternal life. Because I have decided to follow Jesus, I have his support.
I am in Christ and the same Dunamis power that raised Jesus from the dead lives within me. I release this treasure within me to work in every area of my life, including my health, finances, and relationships.
I refuse to walk in fear or weakness, but I activate your divine ability for breakthrough, wisdom, and miracles. I step out today as your anointed warrior, trusting your strength to be perfected in my weakness. In Jesus' name, Amen!"
