Choosing Your Side

MOSES.png

build a sandcastle on the tide line!" Without stopping to consider the danger, everyone agrees.

If there had been a family member coming out of the hotel with common sense about water surge, he or she might have told them, "Hey you guys, you're building this beautiful sandcastle too close to the shoreline."

Do you think Moses would have told the people the same thing about building an idol calf god because the people were impatient? If you were attending church and found out the pastor was going to be delayed 20 minutes, would you leave?

Remember beloved, the pastor is not God. You're there to worship the unseen God, in spirit and in truth. The Spirit of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the keynote speakers each Sunday morning. The pastor is his mouthpiece.

After God had seen this wicked choice the people had decided to do, he called them stiff-necked and was poised to consume them in fire death. But Moses interceded for the people for the Lord to have mercy on the rebellious.

[God did not change his mind in the same way that a parent decides not to discipline a child. Instead, God changed his behavior to remain consistent with his nature in a changed situation. He was acting consistently with his Holy justice against his unrepentant people.]

But now we move to the most important part of this story involving God, Moses, Aaron, and the people of Israel. Now that God had not decided to destroy them, there was a choice to be made. Please read these verse into your spirit.

26} "Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

27} And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

28}And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

29} For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. (Exodus 32:26-29 KJV).

Read those words again, "Who is on the Lord's side?" Does not that denote that you get to make the determining decision? Again, like those in your family out voting mom or dad to build that sandcastle too dangerously close to the tide line

Here's something important to notice about this story with Moses and the Israelites. The fact that all the Levites came forward indicates that God's house is still in order. Did you get that? God will always have a people who love him more than the world.

The word "choosing" is among people's hearing throughout scripture. It comes with words like, "Choose you this day," "The valley of decision," and there being "No middle ground." Please read these powerful examples in your quiet time.

(Joshua 24:14-25; Joel 3:11-16; Matthew 12:25-30). You get to pick which side you want, but you can't choose both. Remember what was in last week's message? Read it again, beloved. (1 Corinthians 10:21-23).

Consider the cost of compromise. Are you still sitting in the middle of the seesaw? Are you all in or left out? Are you building your life on the beach sand at the tide line that the devil is patrolling? Still think neutral is best?

If you're not convinced, here are some final points and scripture passages I'd like to try and persuade you. Let's start with the words of God and Jesus. If you won't be persuaded by my words, maybe you'll be persuaded their words.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matthew 6:24 KJV).

19} "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20} That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20 KJV).

God desires you choose his Son. No one can come to God without going through Jesus. (John 14:6). This also applies to those who choose these over Jesus, all false religions, doctrines, denominationalism, bylaws, traditions, and legalism.

🗣📢 Last words: So, here are my practical studies you can keep to be sure to choose wisely. Don't wait for the waves of Satan's influence to swallow you and take you under to death. Trust in the truth. Jesus is that truth.

A) The myth and lie of neutrality-

Jesus is the one who shatters the idea that a person can be a "Good Bystander." Many people are silent on how women are being treated today.

Whether abused, raped, abandoned in marriage, kicked out of their own sports by men, told killing their children in the womb is ok, still seen as a second-class citizen in other nations to be mishandled.

What happen to believe all women? Where are the "Me Too" people at? Did the feminists also hide in the shadows of neutrality? What happened to all the women who used to s8ng, "I am women, hear me roar!"

You see beloved, failure to actively care for woman places you on the wrong side of Christ. It means you are on the world's moral system side that teaches tolerance of sin is a neutral virtue.

When you remain silent, you have failed to choose Jesus for women. It means you have chosen the world's ways. Neutrality is an illusion. (Revelation 3:15-16; James 4:4).

God rejects an indifferent, lukewarm attitude. Trying to stay neutral between God and worldly ways makes you an opponent of God not his bosom buddy.

B) Danger of the modern "Golden Calf"- Israel 🇮🇱 built a golden calf because they grew impatient with God and preferred a god they could control. The modern culture today builds calves of self-worship, convenience, and shifting ethics.

When we embrace society’s moral standards over scripture, we are bowing to a modern idol. We must heed the call to "come out" from among them. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

C) Gathering or Scattering-

Following Jesus is always active, not passive. He is gathering souls for eternal life. If he's gathering, and your scattering, you’re not really on his side. The world's moral (be who you are, your truth) satanic trap promises unity.

But in reality, the devil’s moral system causes us to scatter and then turn on each other. Why do you think our nation is so divided? Everyone uses race and racism like a gun or a playing card. Skin color has nothing to do with God.

How do I know? Because since we all entered the womb, God gave us all one blood. None of us can live without blood. When God sent the destroyer (Exodus 12:23) to destroy the first born in Egypt, it didn't matter what race you were.

When the destroyer came, the Lord prevented him from harming those who had blood on the top and sides of their door. There were people who were not Jewish that believed in the God of Moses (I AM), when Israel left Egypt. Skin color had nothing to do with living or dying.

Read these passages into your prejudiced spirit if your heart, mind, and eyes always think outwardly all the time. (1 Samuel 16:5-13, Acts 17:22-28; John 13:33-34; 1 John 4:20-21; Matthew 5:43-44).

Beloved, never fall for the guilt trip of the word "privilege." Your skin has nothing to do with blessing or cursing. There are black and white people in hell. Not because Jesus gave more privilege to one group over the other.

Remember beloved, God is not a respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9; Colossians 3:25). If you're in a church that preaches that everyone is a racist, you should leave that church.

God's family in heaven is filled with people who are all from different nationalities. As his body (church) here on earth, we are to emulate the same practice here on earth. I praise God that wherever I pastored, it was filled with different skin tones.

🗣📢Some more last words: The world's moral system in 2026 promises unity, but it scatters, breaks, and destroys lives. Satan loves division in the world. It keeps hearts from unifying under God's love. Aligning with God means investing in eternal salvation.

The world generally hates God and his loving word (The Bible) and Israel 🇮🇱. When things are going well, godless people tend to become foolish and end up destroying themselves (Proverbs 1:32). See how cities are today?

How can states who claim their state is the most drawing well-run state and have the most crime, or murders, or moral depravity, and attack God loving, biblical, common sense in their state? Remember when Covid came?

There was a concerted effort to close all the churches down, but leave the bars and box stores open. That was as silly as the disciples trying to keep Jesus from ascending to the Father by placing a huge net over the sky to keep him from leaving.

The last person you would want to shut down during Covid would be where the presence of God is. Wisdom and common sense, Amen? Today, beloved, you have an ultimate choice. Salvation cannot be mixed with worldly philosophy.

Today, you get to pick your ultimate choice and commit fully to Christ. My words to you? "Who is on the Lord's side?" How many times do you need to hear it? Jesus is the one who makes streams flow in the desert of your life.

The devil wants to leave you dry, without strength, and dying in his spiritual desert. There is no life in hell. Why would you not surrender and choose him as Lord over your life? How do you view God?

Is it biblical? Is it adequate? Do you need to destroy that image in order to worship the immeasurably powerful God? Billions of people lived on earth, and every one of them, dead, living, and yet to be born, will face judgment.

My church brothers and sisters, the tide is rolling in, and the shifting sands of this world's morality are already liquefying beneath our feet. You cannot build an eternal life on a foundation that changes with the cultural wind.

The illusion of neutrality is over. You cannot stand on the fence any longer, because the fence belongs to the world. Right now, the lines are drawn, and the question of the ages is echoing throughout this online space.

Again, "Who is on the Lord’s side?" Do not turn off your computer or cell phone trying to jump back into the Tic-Toc social media click crowd. Everyone has a cell phone in hand today. But has God be introduced on it?

It's time to step away from the shifting sand, reject the broken systems of this culture, and anchor your life fully and entirely to the unshakeable rock of God’s salvation. Pick your side today, because your eternity hangs in the balance.

🛐 Here’s a prayer you can pray to choose the right side. "Heavenly Father, thank you for the absolute clarity of your word. Lord, your truth cuts through the noise and the confusion of our culture, forcing us to look honestly in our hearts.

Forgive (me) us for the times (I) we have tried to straddle the fence, trying to keep one foot in the world and one foot in your kingdom. Right now, Lord, I pray you would rescue those who are standing on shifting sand.

Give them the courage to stop hiding in the crowd. Holy Spirit, draw them out of the world’s system and into the safety of your redeeming salvation. Break the power of cultural compromise in their lives. Help them to stand boldly.

Help them to pick your side, Lord. That they declare that they have repented and now belong fully to Jesus. Lord, draw them to your living spiritual alter, no matter their location, in Jesus' mighty name I pray, Amen."
