A Dad In The Making
What are some of the unique qualities found in a dad? If you could build a dad, what would he look like? How would he conduct himself? How would he interact with others? What would his occupation be? In the dictionary, the definition of a dad is stated: A male parent. (2): A man who has begotten a child. Everyone has a biological father, even if they are not raised by him. You might call your father Dad, Daddy, Papa, Pops, or even Father.
A man who helped found something, or invent it, can be called the father of that entity or invention. Every male and dad on this earth were created by God for the purpose of expressing that manhood to God through worship. God created man to enjoy a loving relationship with him (Genesis 2:7; 15-25; 5:1-5; 3:17-24). After man was sent out of paradise, (garden of Eden) Adam had a son with wife Eve. The first dad on earth.
Things did not go so well with being the first dad. But even after such disobedience had occurred in his family, men began to call on the name of the Lord (Genesis 4:26). In between that time and now, God sent his son Jesus to restore that male-to-male relationship with dads all over the earth. God and his son (Jesus) are the perfect relationship to emulate on Father's Day.
God wants all men to call on him today. To be in alignment with God in a spiritual way helps men everywhere to be in the order God has called him to be. When a man is given the description Man of God, that is a biblical title of respect applied to prophets and beloved religious leaders. The term appears 78 times in 72 verses of the Bible.
So, what does the Lord require of men and males? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8) This will lead to good steps for men everywhere. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. (Psalm 37:23) God has given directions as to the way his men should walk in this world. God's Word is the road map for all men. All the qualities one would place in the making of a man, can be found in the man of all men, Jesus. Real men love Jesus.
Men, may you be honored, served, and pampered this Father's Day!
