Real Life For Your Heart

{Page 2}
Where is your allegiance?

as a witness to testify they may be asked to place their hand on the Bible and promise (pledge) to tell the whole truth, so help them God. But do they reference him enough to not lie?
A pledge to the Bible, is a "Pledge of allegiance to God's holy word." It is a commitment to reading, learning, and obeying God's word. But when we fabricate the truth with our hand on the living word, we live in darkness.
The Bible tells let God be true, and every man a liar. (Jeremiah 9:23-24; John 8:17-19; Romans 3:3-6; 8:6-10). When we pledge allegiance to God we are pledging our allegiance, our devotion, our loyalty, our heart, and lives to God.
Pledge comes from the Hebrew word (châbal). It means to bind something together. To wind tightly; like a rope. To be bound specifically by a pledge. Many of you know the song "Bind us together Lord."
🎵 "Bind us together Lord, bind us together Lord, with cords that cannot be broken. Bind us together Lord, bind us together Lord, bind us together in Love.
That binding (pledge) is not easily broken as I mentioned earlier. (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Just as marriage vows should be respected and upheld (Matthew 19:4-12), our pledge to God should be upheld. (Matthew 12:36-37).
Here's a simple pledge to memorize as you continue to love the Lord. "I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's holy word. I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its words in my heart so I might not sin against God."
When we acknowledge that life contract with his love, here’s his response; "And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God." This means we are committing ourselves to God’s rule and authority. (Jeremiah 30:22 KJV).
🗣📢 Last words: Before we close for the day, let's look at a few primary reasons why we should not be afraid to commit or make up our own pledges to honor God with. First, we see ordinary people make all kinds of loyalty commitments to different organizations.
Having loyalty to something gives a person a deep sense of loyalty and faithfulness. Aren't many people today being tested about their allegiance to this country? Many are willing to uphold its laws and principles.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Can you guess which four words have been removed from its beautiful lexicon? Notice how everything changed in our educational system when we told God to get out of it? God stills rules over all nations whether they want him or not.
What our nation did do was leave a large spiritual breach in our school system for Satan to come in and steal, kill, and destroy our children's minds, hearts, and innocent lives (John 10:10). He has breached every emotional torment against them.
From school shootings to not knowing who they are, to taking off their body parts, to upsetting their sports world competition. Satan has infiltrated our educational system, and the blind adults cannot see the pain and hurt their causing.
Secondly, we need to go back to a living functional pledge that allows us to build on God's strong foundation. If God were to ask this nation “What have I done to you?” how would it reply? Do you think God's commandments work in 2025?
Why is (Exodus 20:3-20; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Micah 6:1-8; Matthew 22:37-40; John 13:34-35; 14:19-21) so hard to stand on? When our nation bucks against God like a wild horse, they lose. (Deuteronomy 28:15-58).
We can learn very simply how to bring peace and blessings into our lives. Just remember: We are created in God's Image. (Genesis 1:27). The Bible places both man and woman at the pinnacle of God’s creation.
Neither gender is exalted over the other, and neither is depreciated. Our identity is given to us by God, not by the surgical knife of some Frankenstein physician who wants to create his own gender. God has given us a spirit also.
This makes God, Lord over our gender and sexuality. Our God given spirit (breath) can reason and make choices. (Deuteronomy 30:19). He has given us dominion over creation. Since God is a Spirit, we need his spiritual nourishment.
His spiritual nourishment guides us into all truth. His word helps men to live a life pleasing to God, emphasizing the importance of faith, love, and obedience. A true man of God can be described holy, compassionate, and living a life that follows God's ways.
The duty of the person who pledges to honor God rightly is the man whose purpose is to fear God and keep his commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13). He is called to exemplify this through loving leadership in the home.
A loving husband and father has the calling by God to lead with strong sacrificial compassion towards his wife and children. He can show this example throughout the church. Caring for them helps him to care for others. (Ephesians 5:23-33; 6:1-4).
Lastly, why is all this so important in our culture today? Because our young adults and children need to see God in our lives. Many parents have failed the gifts God has given them. The church and believers must intensify the light to children.
Prayer warriors and intercessors are on the front lines of spiritual warfare fighting the demonic powers that seek to destroy the minds and hearts of young people. When they fast and pray it destroys strongholds against our youth.
It’s important to engage those who are hanging out in streets, with no employment, protesting without knowing why their doing it, and just missing out on abundant life that only God can give them.
God's word emphasizes the Bible as the foundation of faith and guidance for Christian living. It encourages individuals to actively engage with the Bible and make it a part of their daily lives.
It helps individuals understand the Bible's teachings and apply them to their lives, fostering spiritual maturity.
It highlights the Bible's role in preventing sin and guiding believers on a path of obedience.
It teaches us to understand that God's sovereignty and power holds us up when problems come against us. (Romans 8:31-39; Isaiah 40:5-8; 41:10-13; Jeremiah 1:4-8; Nehemiah 4:13-14; Exodus 14:13-14; 2 Chronicles 20:17-18).
When you go about the start of your day, how much does God play a role in it? Is it just when you wake up and before you go to bed? Is he your all-day God or just your ATM God? Does your pledge to family trump spending time with God?
Read aloud into your spirit, family, or study group what Jesus thought about allegiance towards God. (Matthew 10:32-40). Sometimes, it’s good to stop and ask yourself what tops your list of things to do.
If time with God fails to appear, then it is time for an adjustment. You know the things that hinder you from spending time with God. Yes, there are chores to do, kids to spend time with, ball games to attend, calls to be returned.
And of course there’s your spouse, who is second on the pledge list, needs at least some of your undivided attention, right? (Smile). But when you choose to put God at the "tippy top," all things seem to come in perfect alignment.
[God longs to open doors of spiritual reality to us. He wants us to sit with him in heavenly places. We must live with a spiritual vantage point from the throne room of God. The throne of God is the seat of his authority.]
It represents the place from which He rules and reigns over the nations and our personal lives. God is jealous for our relationship with him. (Deuteronomy 4:24). Jesus invites us to this place of authority and victory.
We have to see the Lord! We have to accept the invitation to come up higher around the throne, to behold Jesus, to see him and believe! Once you see this, you have hope; and once you see what God sees, your pledge lives.
When you make time with God your top priority, you invite him to bless all the other things on your list. Ready? Place your hand over your heart. I pledge... Now it's up to you.
🛐 Here’s a prayer you can pray to recommit your heart. "Heavenly Father, thank you for not turning away from me when my devotion has been distracted by everyday world events. Forgive me Lord for falling short of your standards.
Lord, each day I realize I cannot pledge to live a perfect life because I was born with a sinful fallen nature. I refuse to fall into the same spiritual potholes the enemy has set for me. At times, I feel pulled in many directions.
I want to be sure I am following your will. Please give me wisdom to discern your plan and courage to walk in it. Help me to trust your guidance even when I don't understand. Give me strength to persevere through all challenges.
Lord, help me to only pledge what I'm able to commit to you. When I pledge to do things according to your word, help me to see these commitments through to completion. Soften my heart by your Holy Spirit to love you above all else.
Lord, as it is with marriage, help me to cultivate a long-lasting commitment in my relationship with you. Strengthen me with your word that I might love and respect others as you have called me to do, in Jesus’ name, Amen."
