two kinds of builders. (Imagine you and another person trying to build a house of cards on a table). One builder digs deep to find the strongest bedrock; the other builds right on top of the shifting sand.

Both houses (deck of cards) might look identical on a sunny afternoon. But Jesus warns us that a day is coming when the rain will descend, the floods will come, and the winds will blow.

King David echoes this same structural warning in the Psalms. "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." (Psalm 127:1 KJV).

Self-pride in our elected official leaders can poison and destroy whole communities, cities, and states. They are like some employer companies that even when mistakes are made, they never own up to them.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18 KJV).

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. (Proverbs 25:28 KJV).

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34 KJV)

Please hear me beloved, any community or nation built on secular, fragile values are nothing more than a house of cards. Before the winds of crisis blow, God’s people must awake from passive observation.

They must actively rebuild the society on the only foundation that stands, Jesus Christ! Family of God, born-again of his Spirit saints, look at our communities today, our institutions, our state, and our culture.

How are we still standing? Many think our nation is sinking in moral depravity. We call evil good and good evil. We can longer describe what a woman is. And some way godless thinkers think this good.

They marvel at how advanced, prosperous, and progressive we seem. But spiritually and morally, we have stopped building on the rock. That rock is Jesus. We have continued in many states to lean on flimsy human ideas.

These ideas are like the playing cards. We build up human ideas without God's input. We stack them against one another, constructing a massive elaborate social experiment. Today, we are living in a house of cards.

But here's the real tragedy. It's not just that the structure is fragile, it's that God's people are sitting on the sidelines, eating popcorn, and simply watching it fall. We groan at the news; we complain about the state of our culture.

But we are we church? Do we go along because we are afraid of what their words may do to us? Who are we standing on? Is the foundation of our redeemer fragile? Are the knees of Jesus to weak against this nation?

We keep complaining, but are our voices timid like a mouse or bold as a lion? We keep being passive observers of a looming collapse. Just look at some of our states. Some love the crazy way out way our country is because it doesn't affect them.

They may be wealthy, living in their gated, guarded, fortified home, because the negative things in our community never get near them. Look what happened in Martha's Vineyard. They welcomed the strangers until the camera lights went dark.

Then the secret call was made, "Hey get these people out of here!" Please listen, deceived hearts, when you invite Jesus into flimsy paper house, your heart makes room for everyone.


🗣📢 Last words: As a nation of people (God's people doing the leading), we need to realize that before the wind blows, we must move from watching the collapse to securing the foundation. We must become more than a paper house.

No matter what state you live in, would you rather have foundational stability with God as your stabilizing force, or would you rather watch your community go through a fragile collapse? Church, are you ready to commit to Kingdom principles?

Here are my three guiding principles to stop playing with a failing house of cards involving real life circumstances. The big bad wolf (Satan) is always ready to huff and puff, and easily blow your house of cards (your life) down.

Here's how you stop him:

🃏 The illusion of strength: Just like a house of cards looks solid until touched, a society built on wealth, politics, or human philosophy looks strong until a crisis hits.

Leaning on shifting sands: When a culture abandons biblical truth, citizens begin leaning on human opinions. If the foundation is just "Do what feels right to you," the entire structure becomes structurally unsound.

We can pass laws, elect leaders, and fund programs (laboring to build), but if the Lord is not the architect, we are just adding more cards to a tower that is destined to fall. (Isaiah 30:12–13; Proverbs 14:34; Jeremiah 2:13-14).

This reinforces that a culture is stabilized by moral integrity, and spiritual truth (John 3:3-7),.not human pride.

🃏🃏 The storm is guaranteed: Before the winds of deception come, Jesus didn't say if the wind blows; he said when it blows (Matthew 7:25). Economic shaking, moral decay, and social unrest are the winds that test a nation's structural integrity.

We cannot afford to wait until the collapse is complete to take action. Prevention happens in the construction phase, not during the hurricane. We must recognize the micro-tremors in our schools, families, and local government.

If we don't strengthen what remains before the storm hits, the fall will be great. (Ezekiel 13:10–15; Ephesians 5:14- 18; Amos 6:1). God rebukes leaders who build a flimsy wall and cover it with whitewash.

He warns that a torrential rain and a stormy wind will tear it down, exposing its lack of foundation. Act before the storm peaks. A direct warning against being passive spectators while the foundations crumble around us.

🃏🃏🃏 Stop watching it fall: It's time to take action. Quit being a passive couch potato, be a wise builder. Rebuke the temptation to be a cultural critic instead of a kingdom builder.

God did not call the church to be a commentator on the world's destruction, but the salt and light that preserves it. To build on the rock means hearing Christ's words and putting them into practice (Matthew 7:24).

True security starts with personal repentance, family discipleship, and localized obedience. We must reintroduce Jesus as the baseline for our laws, our marriages, and our community care.

When we get in the bedrock of the gospel, we build on the sure foundation the prophet Isaiah spoke about. (Isaiah 28:16; 1 Peter 2:8-10; Nehemiah 2:17; 1 Corinthians 3:10–11; James 1:22).

Is your life built on the flimsy base of your own success or dreams? Or is it set on a firm foundation that only Jesus can offer you? Emulating prayers like Nehemiah prayed should encourage us be assertive in our faith and boldly stand for Christ.

Many of you, even some believers might feel exhausted and defeated from all the rampant deluge of evil that keeps happening in your community or state. Some feel as if no one can help us. But beloved, yes there's one who can.

Let me give a short encouraging uplifting answer before we finish. When Israel felt overrun by their enemies, God always made it undeniably clear that the battle would depend upon him and not on Israel’s weapons.

It's not upon our misguided I.Q. This is why the priests carrying the Ark, not soldiers, led the Israelites into battle. Victory always comes from the Lord for the body of Christ. (Joshua 6:19-20; Numbers 10:9-10).

When God's people take action, the Lord stands ready, along with his angels, and the Holy Spirit fills the saints as they move forward in victory. So, can God fix our broken communities, and states? Absolutely! If we invite him to do so.

God's people always focus on action to restoration. You can go from transitioning from a broken house of cards to a House of God. You can look forward to a powerful rock city.

Notice, Jesus told his followers, "I go to prepare a place for you." This place has Mansions in it. The walls will never collapse or fall down. The new Jerusalem spoken of in Revelation has beautiful walls that will never fall flat.

God has given his church the divine blueprint for a culture in crisis. Again, God gives us the courage, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be assertive in the delivery of his message when our community walls start to fall down.

Prayer without ceasing sets courage in action to face those evil giants of destruction that bring pagan influences. (False teaching denominations). Christians should pray for a call to holiness and purity in our broken areas.

God can and will provide a spiritual hedge of protection around his people, transforming vulnerable communities into a secure dwelling place. Beloved, We do not have to be victims of a collapsing culture.

If you are tired of watching your community crumble like a house of cards, it is time to pick up the tools of prayer, righteousness, and active community engagement.

Let’s stop building with paper. Let's ground our families, our church, and our state on the unshakeable "Rock of Ages!" Before that wind blows, let us rise and build!


🛐 Here’s a prayer you can pray to avoid being the "Joker" in a paper house. "Heavenly Father, thank you for opening our eyes to the decay of Unrighteousness that makes our communities unstable.

Lord, we acknowledge that you are the Great Architect, the Master Builder, and the Chief Cornerstone. Lord, your word warns us that unless you build the house, we are laboring completely in vain.

Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have sat on the sidelines. Forgive us for being passive spectators, shaking our heads at the news, and watching our communities and our state tremble like a fragile house of cards.

Wake us up from our complacency. Shake us loose from our comfort. Remove any spirit of fear or defeatism from our hearts, for you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Before the wind blows any harder, Father, we ask for the grace and the strength to pick up our tools. Help us to dig deep through the shifting sands of cultural opinion, political promises, and human pride.

May all our courageous digging lead us to the bedrock of Jesus Christ.
Give us the courage to be doers of your word and not hearers only. Let righteousness be restored in our homes, truth be spoken in our streets.

Let the light of Christ shine through our actions. We pray for our community, our leaders, and our nation. Where walls are cracking and structures are folding, send a revival of repentance and truth to stabilize what remains.

We declare today that our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. We will not be a paper house. We will be a house built on the Rock, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. We stand firm in every storm.

May we continue to stand in your provided armor and wield your sword (word) in continuous victory. Through the mighty and unshakeable name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen."
